Gooten’s 2021 Holiday Performance Recap & What You Can Expect This Holiday 2022 Season

by Gooten Editorial Team on Oct. 11, 2022

The Q4 holiday season is always the busiest shopping season of the year and is always a challenging yet rewarding time of the year., Looking at last year’s 2021 holiday season, we’ve seen that the eCommerce spend rose 10.4% for a total of $204 billion. In 2022, holiday eCommerce is expected to climb 15.5% to $236 billion

This year provides you with an incredible opportunity to redefine your revenue in the holiday season with Gooten. The big question is, how can you ensure your brand is prepared with Gooten for the holidays? This blog will share stats from our previous holiday performance and show you how we’re doing leading up to the 2022 holiday season.

Let’s take a look at Gooten’s previous holiday season

Getting your orders to your customers is one of the most important things you can do for the holidays. The last thing you’d want is to deliver late orders and frustrate your customers at your brand.

During Gooten’s 2021 holiday season, of the order items submitted between Nov 25th – Dec 18th, 99.9% of the orders were shipped on time to meet the proper order submission dates. While we are incredibly proud of our on-time shipping rate, it is still important to announce your order submission dates ahead of time so that your customers know when to place their orders. As long as your customer placed their order and it’s in our system before the deadlines, we are more likely to deliver your customer’s orders on time for the holidays. At Gooten, we’re passionate about giving your brand everything you need to grow and build customer loyalty.

Order delivery is key to ensuring that your customers get their orders reliably and quickly for the holidays. Our team at Gooten managed to reach an average of 6.68 landed days for orders submitted between Nov 25th – Dec 18th. This means we could get orders produced and shipped to your customers within 6-7 days from when the order was placed during the holiday season of 2021—this is particularly impressive given that this is the busiest time of year for eCommerce businesses and transit carriers! The following stats were for all orders between Nov 25 – Dec 18th:

  • Average of 1 pre-production day across all product categories for orders
  • Average of 2 production days across all product categories for orders
  • Average of 4 transit days across all product categories for orders

To give you some context, pre-production days include how long it takes our system and team to process your customer’s order before we begin producing your order. Production days are how long it takes to print and produce all the products in your orders. Transit days are the shipping days, which refers to how long it takes to ship your customer’s orders from our manufacturer to your customer’s doorstep.

Given the global supply chain issues and shockwaves from the pandemic transforming the consumer shopping experience, Gooten could still deliver for our partners in the 2021 holiday season to ensure they had a smooth holiday season.

How are we doing ahead of the 2022 holiday season?

With the increase in eCommerce sales this year and our success from the previous 2021 holiday season, we’re looking forward to continuing this trend of providing the best for your partners. Our goal for the 2022 holiday season is to deliver a seamless experience for your customers when consumers start buying holiday gifts earlier than ever this year.

Looking at the months leading up to the 2022 holiday season, we’ve strived to improve our processes and delivery times by reducing our average landed days for orders. Between Aug 1st – Sept 23rd of 2022, our team achieved an average of 5.91 landed days, meaning your order will be produced and shipped within 5-6 days from when the order was placed. The following stats were for all orders between Aug 1st – Sept 23rd:

  • Average of 0.91 pre-production day across all product categories for orders
  • Average of 2 production days across all product categories for orders
  • Average of 3 transit days across all product categories for orders

Our turnaround times for delivering your orders to your customers have improved over the year, and we continue to see fewer errors with orders. During our 2021 holiday season, our team reached an incredibly low 0.98% error rate for all orders submitted. These errors include all critical production or shipping mistakes that may affect an order. Our teams at Gooten pride ourselves on avoiding as many errors as possible. We’re going to continue this trend by keeping our error rate as low, and as a result, we’ve reached a 0.97% error rate for all orders submitted between Aug 1st – Sept 23rd.
